You can never be sure what to expect of the weather in Manchester. A day can start out sunny and quickly change to cloudy, rainy or windy come midday. The towns surrounding Manchester, including Oldham, Rochdale, Bolton and Stockport, all have a similar varied climate.

To deal with the unpredictable weather found in this region, houses in Manchester need to have efficient central heating and insulation. If your home is poorly insulated then, according to industry experts, over a quarter of the heat generated could be lost through the roof and a third lost through the walls.

Of course, it’s not always cold in Manchester, and insulation can also help to keep your house cooler when it’s warm outside. To ensure that you are prepared for all types of weather, you will need to enlist the help of professional installers who can help you make an informed decision when it comes to insulating your home.

Installing additional insulation in your home could save you up to £260* a year!

The Snug Network also offer a SWIGA guarantee of 25 years on all installations completed by our BBA approved technicians.

What types of insulation are there?

Loft insulation can be installed to prevent heat escaping through the roof. Your house may also benefit from a protective layer of insulating fabric within or on your walls. This can either be solid wall insulation or cavity wall insulation, depending on the building.

The green route

If you are eligible for Green Deal, you will be able to get credit towards all or part of the installation costs. You then pay off the loan through the money you save on your energy bills.

It’s also worth bearing in mind that the money you save annually through cavity wall and loft insulation means that the cost of installation may pay for itself within several years.
