Solar Panel Installers

With local solar panel installers based all over the UK, Snug Network can have a highly trained and approved installer on your doorstep to help you and your home benefit from the most reliable energy solutions.

Types of Solar (PV) Panels

Our solar panel installers are MCS qualified, trained and experienced in installing a range of different types of solar PV panels including; Monocrystalline, Polycrystalline and Thin Film modules.

Standard solar photovoltaic (PV) panels can be either Monocrystalline or Polycrystalline which refers to if the silicone used within the panels contain single cut crystals (Mono) or interlocking crystals (Poly). Monocrystalline panels tend to have higher efficiency levels and so will produce more electricity compared to Polycrystalline panels with the same service area. However, Polycrystalline panels are usually cheaper and can work better in lower light levels.

Thin Film solar panels are the newest to the market. Thin Film solar panels are completely different than Monocrystalline and Polycrystalline – rather than using crystal, silicon is deposited on a backing substrate. This makes them the thinnest, most flexible and more efficient in winter.

Solar PV surveyors and installers will generally follow the same process for each type of panel. They will visit your home to assess the suitability, they will check the structure of your roof, a mounting system will be attached to your roof (or ground if your roof is unsuitable), solar PV panels are then attached to the mounting system in the optimum position. Lastly a generation meter and inverter will be installed in to your home.
