Solar PV Batteries have been becoming more and more popular, this is due to the continuous improvement of their technology. Allowing you to store excess energy that your solar panels create and cannot use straight away, solar batteries can lower your carbon emissions, decrease your electricity bills whilst still benefiting from the Feed-In Tariff Scheme.

Powervault Utility Room Solar BatteryThere are two common batteries which are usually offered, these are Lithium-Ion (usually used for electrical devices such as laptops) and Lead-acid (usually used as car batteries). Our lithium-ion solar batteries are available with various usable capacities, these are, 2kWh, 4kWh and 6kWh. Lead-acid batteries are available with 3kWh and 4kWh usable capacities.

Powervault Lithium-ion Solar PV batteries are best suited to customers who desire a long lasting technology which will not need replacing for 17 – 20 years. Whereas Lead acid batteries are for customers who want lower upfront cost and the option to upgrade to a lithium-ion battery when the lead acid battery has reached the end of its life, this is usually 5 – 7 years.

The UK suffers from hundreds of power cuts every year, in 2014 alone there were over 500 outages, resulting in over 1 million people being without power. The Powervault solar batteries are able to provide emergency power in the unfortunate event of a power cut. Customers will be able to power appliances such as lights, computers, WIFI routers, boiler control, phone chargers and more, by plugging them into the Powervault’s emergency socket. During a power cut the Solar PV battery can offer a maximum continuous output of 1200VA.

All Solar PV Batteries installed by Snug Network members feature a 5 year warranty which covers faulty parts including batteries. If within the 5 years you experience issues and the solar battery is deemed as defective it will either be repaired free of charge or replaced in return for the faulty product.
