Generate your own clean, green energy
The Snug Network now includes renewable energy microgeneration installers, trained
by the experts at the Renewable Training Academy. So as well as ensuring your property
is energy efficient, we can help you tap into the elements to provide power and
heat.
Technologies we can help with
Microgeneration is small-scale generation of electricity or heat from renewable
sources. Most of our projects involve installing solar photovoltaic (PV) panels,
which convert sunlight into electricity. We can install both rooftop and ground-based
solar PV systems.
The high quality panels we fit will produce significant levels of electricity even
when it's cloudy. We only install solar panels and inverters from reputable suppliers
accredited by the MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme). And with the environment
in mind, we source our equipment from the UK or elsewhere in the EU whenever we
can.
We can also help with other renewable electricity generation and low carbon heating
technologies. Ask us for details.
What are the benefits?
Generating your own energy from renewable sources will:
- help to cut your carbon footprint
- reduce your energy costs
- and protect you from rising fuel prices.
You can also take advantage of one of the very attractive government-backed financial
incentives available, such as the Feed-in Tariff. This is a cash back scheme designed
to reward you for generating your own electricity from renewable sources.
If we fit solar PV panels for you, you'll receive guaranteed tax-free payments for
the next 25 years, increasing annually to account for inflation. If your system
is installed before April 2012, you'll receive at least 41.3p for each kilowatt-hour
of electricity you generate.
Any electricity you don't use will be fed into the National Grid, and you'll also
be paid for this, at 3p per kilowatt-hour.
Our installers
All Snug Network renewables installers are accredited by the MCS and also belong
to a self-regulation scheme, such as the REAL (Renewable Energy Assurance Limited)
Assurance Scheme.
The Snug Network member based nearest to you will carry out your installation, keeping
the environmental impact to a minimum.
What's the process?
First your local Snug Network installer will visit you to carry out a site survey.
They will also check your existing insulation and offer advice on energy efficiency,
to make sure you'll benefit fully from the energy you generate.
We'll then send you a clear written estimate. If you decide to go ahead, we'll design
your installation and fit it, along with any additional insulation your installer
has recommended.
Our technical team is the largest and most experienced in the energy efficiency
sector. With our aftercare service, we'll ensure your microgeneration equipment
keeps working hard for you. Your installation will also be guaranteed by the Snug
Network.
